Been living here for almost 7 years on a temporary residence permit (renewable every 2 years). I have submitted my records of pension payments plus payslips...and now they're asking me for a certificate that I passed the Einbürgerungstest. I'm supposed to apply for a Niederlassungserlaubnis, with my B1-Zertifikat already submitted to them.

Does this mean I am already eligible for Einbürgerung?

If not citizenship then most probably residence permit according to § 25b AufenthG

Other than that, does it really matter? If you have it just submit it to them.

The registration and the result takes time around 2-5 months.

If you do not have it, start learning from here https://deutsch-werden.de/de/einbuergerungstest

The Leben in Deutschland and einbuergerungstest has exactly similar questions. So, don't sweat on the name of the exam.
