German Naturalization under the new law

Good Day wefugee team,

Please I wish to know if the new naturalization for the German Passport has been approve and also for children born in Germany by Foreigners to acquire German citizenship if one of the parents has been legally lived in Germany for 5 years has also pass. Thanks

The new law has not yet been passed. A draft has been produced, which politicians will be discussing over the next while. We cannot say for sure when the law will pass and come into force. Once source I read guessed it would come into force after the summer.

I recommend you regularly check for any news about it. You will find more detailed and up to date news if you use German terms like 'Gesetz' (law) and 'Staatsbürgerschaft' (citizenship). Or check in here with us again.
