Dear @Dan,
Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for your question.
First of all, congratulations! I think you are doing a very good job and I wish you all the best for the exams! If you are currently holding an Aufenthaltsgestattung, it means that you are still in a pending asylum procedure. Once you received a positive answer from the BAMF and they give you a humanitarian status, the local immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) issues a residence permit. This is totally independent from your job or your "Ausbildung" at the moment.
However, in case the BAMF is giving you a negative answer on your asylum application and you also get a negative ruling at the administrative court (if you decide to appeal against the decision), you may still have good chances to get another type of residence permit which is related to your profession and your qualification.
It is a bit difficult to give you a more detailed answer without knowing your background. But from my perspective, you should not worry too much and focus on your exams instead.
In any case, please also don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.
Kind regards,
Meike
