Divorce recognition at the Standesamt?

Hallo I got divorced in Kenya.Am currently working in Germany.
I gave birth birth last month and went to standesamt to register for my son birth certificate.
They told me they will have to send my birth certificate and divorce papers to Kenya to confirm if they are ok.
Do you know how long it will take, because I need my son birth certificate?

as for your question:

- the time it might take depends on the authorities in Kenya, however you could get a certification by the embassy of Kenya in Germany, that proves that your divorce documents are not fake.

- as for the birth certificate, if you have a Auszug aus dem Geburtenregister from the Standesamt, almost all German authorities accept it on behalf of the birth certificate.
