Hello!

We finally moved out from Asylbewerberunterkunft! here is our story:

We are family of five, from which three are 18+ and two are schoolkids. We are still in Asylverfahren as we have had no interview or decision on our case, thus we still hold Aufenthalsgestattung. Our entire income household income reached 4000 Netto, We found a house in a municipality and finally received Wohnsitzauflage change on our new address.

As I mentioned, three of us have a income, one of three is 18+ son, and other two parents. Since December we receive zero$ through Asylbewerberleistungen or any other law. We fully pay for our needs and don't get neither leistungen, nor burgergeld, wohngeld, kindergeld, basically nothing just our salaries. we have now moved out to new home and I can proceed with my question.

- considering our current status, is there any financial support opportunities we can apply to? maybe Wohngeld? or Kindergeld? anything? as cold rent, bus tickets for schoolkids, bus tickets for us all, warm rent and all add up very heavily on our 4,000 Netto considering all the other costs of family and the need to make savings account for potential need of hiring lawyer at one point or another.

Thank you very much. looking forward to your tips and information.

Hi @Mariam_1997

People with an Aufenthaltsgestattung can receive Wohngeld.

Kindergeld is only possible for citizens of the following countries who are working:

Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia.

If you receive Wohngeld, you can also receive the benefits of the ‘Bildung-und-Teilhabe’ package. These are additional benefits for children in school. It provides money for the following:

Payments for school materials twice a year

  • School transport
  • School meals
  • Class trips
  • Participation in sport/culture (e.g. membership fee for a football club or music lessons)
  • Private school tuition (called ‘Nachhilfe’ or ‘Lernförderung’ , if a teacher confirms a pupil needs this)
You apply for both the Wohngeld and the Bildung-und-Teilhabe supports from your local Sozialamt.

I hope this information helps you get some additional support.

Best,

Éanna
