Hello I would like to ask whether it is possible to apply for asylum inside Heathrow airport Transit or any other UK airport , meaning if someone would have layover to another country but ask for asylum inside the transit zone in Heathrow , Isn’t the airport a port of entry? Or would someone have to refuse going back for the authorities to take them and process their asylum claim ? And would it matter if someone had 2 or 3 children with her?

Dear @scxen,

Unfortunately I can not share any experience on applying for asylum at Heathrow Airport and I could not find any relevant information during my research. But my colleague was replying to a very similar question here before. Maybe his answer will be also useful for you.

In any case, please don't hesitate to get back to us with any other question.

All the best,

Meike
