Unfortunately, I don't know much about the subject either, but I have tried to do a little research. If I understand you correctly, by ‘Entgeltumwandlung’ you mean a form of company pension scheme. This involves paying part of your gross salary into a pension scheme or similar. In Germany, there are several regulations on when and under what conditions the saved capital can be paid out. Usually, the money from ‘Entgeltumwandlung’ cannot be paid out after a short period of time. If I understand correctly, the payout normally only takes place at retirement age.
