How long maximum can I stay out of Europe?
I have a protection status for 3 years in Berlin.
What if I exceed 6 month because my mom is sick and I take care of her. Is my residency permit still valid or not

Hello @Samsham

Welcome to our community and thank you for your question!

In general traveling should be unproblematic. You are allowed to travel using your blue passport. It enables you to travel visa-free to a lot of countries, but you can also use it in combination with a visa if necessary.

You can stay in a visa-free country for a maximum of 90 days within a period of 6 months. If you entered a country with a visa, the maximum length of your stay is determined by the terms and conditions of your visa.

If you plan staying abroad for more than six months I'd highly recommend to get in touch with with Ausländerbehörde first. Maybe they can make an exception. Otherwise your Aufenthaltsgestattung expires after six months.

Keep in mind that traveling to your home country will most likely result in a loss of your refugee status.
