Hej Miradi,
I am not an expert in this field, but I assume you have a title right now called "Aufenthaltsgestattung"? I googled a bit and saw that the "Bundesagentur für Arbeit" (German Employment Agency) generally has to allow you to work if you are in that status. They should also be able to tell you, if working as a freelancer is fine as well. I also googled about that and saw that there are freelancer online-plattforms encouraging refugees to work on their plattforms, so it seems working as a freelancer should not be a problem once "Bundesagentur für Arbeit" allowed you to work in general.

As for the TAX number, I am pretty sure you need to apply for that at your local "Finanzamt" (Tax Authority). Normally you just fill out a form and hand it in and that shouldnt take that long.

Hope at least I could help a bit, even tough I am no expert in this. But I will be glad to look for further details, if you need any help!

hej Miradi, I can understand you want to work in your own field and be financially independent from state and support your family. I will try to find out more about working as a freelancer and let you know as soon as I found something relevant. I might just call Agentur für Arbeit tomorrow and ask them directly, if I have some time. Welcome to Germany by the way to you and your family! Hope people treated all of you good so far!
Glad to hear that! I am asking right now in volunteer forums. Pretty sure someone already faced the same question and will answer soon. I will inform you then!
Hej Miradi, i talked to some other volunteers. The only information I found out was, that you are not allowed to start your own business as a refugee or with your recent title. But i am not sure if freelancing is considered as "starting own business", as it has different tax regulations as well. I think the best would be to contact your local "Agentur für Arbeit" (Employment Authority). If you tell me your zip code, i can find out the office responsible for you!
first you have to look for the correct type of visa, the visa to work as a freelancer in germany will be given upon correct request within very short time. Working as freelancer is possible but you have a large amount of prerequisetes to fulfill. May answering machine sends you a lot of information about freelancers in germany if you send an email with the sunject REQ=404000 to the adress service.bk90de@gmx.de (its a maschine which reads only the subject).
